Prague after COVID

These photos were taken in Prague between August 15–25, 2021. Travel had just reopened after the first wave of the COVID–19 pandemic. The streets were eerily empty. Though social life was tentatively starting to resume, the economic devastation is palpable, the sadness overwhelming.

Old + New Towns. #1 + 2 are Karel Prager’s former parliament building at top of Wenceslas Square, now part of National Museum. #5 + 6 are crosses painted on the cobblestones in the Old Town Square, in memory of COVID-19 victims..
