This put me in mind of a trip we took to the Rockies a few years back. I took these photos in Banff National Park on May 23 + 24, 2017, at Lake Louise and Moraine Lake.

It started out nice enough, the sky was blue, the sun was shining, the ice on the lake was finally cracking. It was warm enough not to need a jacket.
